It's never too late

Many people find love and companionship again, at every stage of life.

Wanting someone to share life with is natural, whatever your age or story. Your faith can be a real source of strength as you take this step.

If you've lost a partner

There's no right time to start dating again. Some people feel ready sooner than they expected, others take years. Wanting company doesn't mean you've stopped loving the person you lost. Be gentle with yourself, and take it one step at a time.

If you're divorced or separated

Divorce can bring up difficult feelings, including about faith. Take the time you need, talk to people you trust, and remember that a fresh start is possible. When you're ready, being honest about your past, without dwelling on it, helps the right people understand you.

If it's been a long time

If grief or a divorce feels overwhelming, it's worth talking to someone. Your church, your GP or a support charity can help.
